Get closer to the wildlife of this UNESCO World Heritage Site—silently glide past hippos in a traditional canoe as fish eagles soar overhead.
A stylish sanctuary in the heart of the delta

Flooded with light by day, our safari accommodation is indulgently cosy at night. Unwind in the soothing grey interior, punctuated by flashes of deep gold. Or stretch out on the oversized bed, framed by a stunning copper headboard. Best of all, each tented room boasts its own plunge pool and private deck—both perfect for soaking up the scenery.

THE HISTORY

Integral to the rich history of Botswana, the lodge was established in the 1900s when intrepid explorers and crocodile hunters first flocked to the delta. Since then, we’ve refined safari living to an art. Eagle Island Lodge is among the most environmentally friendly lodges in the country, and our private drives are a truly intimate way to get closer to the country’s natural wonders.

Best Time to Visit Botswana

The Okavango Delta, Moremi and Chobe are the most popular parks in Botswana. If you’re planning to visit Botswana for the national parks of Moremi and Chobe it’s best done during the dry season and winter from March to November. The Okavango Delta can be flooded from June to October though this can also be a beautiful sight for our guests to experience.
