Traditional tented camp set amongst one of the greatest regions to observe Botswana’s spectacular wildlife.
Sango Safari Camp is nestled in the shade of the trees overlooking the Khwai River. Situated on the outskirts of the traditional village of Khwai and bordering Moremi Game Reserve, the camp offers guests the perfect base from which to explore the wildlife and culture of this unique habitat.
The Khwai area offers a unique variety of safari experiences due to its ideal position on the edge of the Okavango Delta. Although this region is known as the drier part of the Okavango Delta, the presence of the Khwai river provides a year-round water source attracting one of the most fantastic wildlife concentrations in Botswana, and allows Sango Safari Camp to offer both land-based and water-based activities.
Developed on the outskirts of the quaint village of Khwai, Sango Safari Camp offers a unique encounter with the local community and leads you right to the heart of Botswana.
This intimate safari camp was named after the Sango Family – some of the original inhabitants of the Khwai area, who collaborated with Bush Ways to develop the camp.
Guests have the chance to learn first-hand about the unique lifestyle and experiences that come from living and growing up in one of the most wildlife rich areas of Botswana.
Sango Safari Camp is ideally located along the Khwai river forming a natural border between Moremi Game Reserve and the Khwai Concession, with animals traveling freely from one to the other.
Situated on the river overlooking the Moremi and with access to both these magnificent wildlife areas, Sango Safari Camp is focused on delivering an exceptional wildlife experience – allowing guests to take advantage of a host of wildlife activities including; open vehicle game drives in Moremi and the Khwai area and night drives.
With a combination of permanent water, seasonal floodplains, open grasslands, riverine forests, and dry woodlands this incredibly rich habitat supports a diversity and abundance of mammals and birds rarely matched in northern Botswana. Sango Safari Camp invites you to share in this bounty. All activities are subject to seasonal availability and weather conditions. Best Time to Visit Botswana
The Okavango Delta, Moremi and Chobe are the most popular parks in Botswana. If you’re planning to visit Botswana for the national parks of Moremi and Chobe it’s best done during the dry season and winter from March to November. The Okavango Delta can be flooded from June to October though this can also be a beautiful sight for our guests to experience.
