"Without new experiences, something inside of us sleeps. The sleeper must awaken"
- Frank Herbert
Since our inception, we have understood that a journey can act like truth serum. For a finite space in time, the traveller is buffered against what is taken for granted and is able to experience enlightenment, beauty and Technicolor dreams.
Go ahead and expect the delightfully unexpected from the moment you open your eyes in the morning. A stunning sunrise, a playful baby rhino, a bubble bath awaiting your return courtesy of your valet...
"Traveling... it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller"
- Ibn Battuta
Sindabezi Island is unique - the discerning traveller's best-kept secret. An idyllic, exclusive camp on our very own private isle on the Zambezi River, it is the only luxury bush camp from where Victoria Falls can comfortably be explored. Experience the large number of activities in the area during the day and return to a tranquil haven, a thousand light-years away from the bustle at night. Fodor’s consider Sindabezi one of the top 10 eco-lodges in Africa.
There are only five open-sided thatched Chalets on the entire island, allowing guests to soak up the sights and sounds of a pristine African bush setting. Views across the flood plains of the Zambezi and into the nearby National Park complete the experience.
Tangala House is a luxurious family home on the banks of the Zambezi River. The intermittent home of Ben and Vanessa Parker, the owners of Tongabezi, it lies close to Tongabezi and 15km upstream of Victoria Falls. Designed with a family in mind, the house comes with a 13m private swimming pool and its own gym. Tangala has four bedrooms, three with en-suite bathrooms and raised king-sized beds. Stylishly designed and furnished, the house has featured in House and Garden in the UK and comes with a vehicle and boat, a chef, waiters and private guide - all courtesy of Tongabezi.
Best Time to Visit Zambia
The recognised best times to visit Zambia for the best game viewing along with pleasantly mild daytime temperatures is during the dry season, May to October although September and October can be exceptionally hot. It is during the dry season when animals congregate around the rivers and waterholes. During the wet season (November to April) some roads in the parks can be inaccessible resulting in some camps being closed. The scenery in Zambia is always spectacular throughout the year.
It is your responsibility to check the entry visa requirements with the individual embassy of each country you intend visiting prior to departure.
